Sony discontinues production of flagship Xperia smartphones

According to a report out of Japan, Sony will no longer be assembling its flagship Xperia smartphones on its own. Instead, production will be outsourced to third-party contract manufacturers. The company previously assembled flagship models in-house and now intends to entrust this process to partners for the long term.
