It will be based on the fresh Android 16.
AMP Version
In May, Google confirmed the release of a stable version of Android 16 in June 2025. During The Android Show 2025, Samsung representatives announced that One UI 8 based on it will be available this summer. According to the company, no deployment problems are expected this time around, as was the case with One UI 7.
🔄 What's changed
- Interim update. One UI 8 doesn't bring a lot of new features - the focus is on stability and optimization.
- Version 8.5 is already in development. A larger update will be released later and will add new features, interface tweaks and improvements.
📱 First devices
Among the smartphones with One UI 8 "out of the box", the first to arrive will be the new foldable flagships:
- Galaxy Z Fold 7
- Galaxy Z Flip 7
Their announcement is scheduled for the summer of 2025, which will allow Samsung to immediately start selling on the fresh version of the firmware.
🧪 Beta testing
There will be a beta test before the official launch:
- Starting: late May/early June 2025
- Participation: the test will be open to owners of compatible devices via the Samsung Members app
